Reconditioning the Centerboard Trunk

My current project.. I'm adding resin to the interior of the trunk.. My only concern was having an uneven surface once dry and then not being able to fit the dagger in. Since having to sand inside the truck would be ridiculously hard I made the tool in the picture below..

I made a sponge spreader to make sure that after I poured the resin I had a way to soak up any excess resin before it dryed..

I layed my first coat already and it worked well, The coat was fairly thin but I was able to work resin deep into the small pits.. the drippage was only minimal..

I had the boat tilted to make sure the resin ran down the trunk as I poured it in..

you can see in the last picture, inside the trunk there were a few chips in the resin and the fiberglass was exposed..

I also added some resin to the trunk from the inspection ports in the tub..

I could see a potential for a leak and didn't want my trunk to be out of date on maintenance.. shes 39 years old...
