I am unfamiliar with a "bottleport".. do you have an image that i can reference? Thanks.
Also what is the easiest way to cut a hole in the cockpit for the port? The boat is sitting on a trailer right now and there's no one really who can help me to bring it down to ground level. thanks.
Could I just place a port on one of the sides of the cockpit rear? and if so then what size? or is my only option placing one on the deck? and again would it be 4" or 6"?
The boat in the following link is the one I wish to place the port in.

It is a 1969 boat and does not have the storage compartment. I wanted to put it in the rear part of the cockpit...
I have seen several posts with members placing inspection ports in the front of their cockpit. I have already placed a 6" port in the front deck for drying. I am wondering if i can place a 6" or 4" port in the rear wall of the cockpit, possibly on the left rear or right rear of the cockpit since...
Re: A few pics of what I had ahead of me, advice would be appreciated.
I did a search for fiberglass outlet in london and could not locate one on google. I just typed in "London Ontario Fiberglass Outlet" and nothing came up really. Do you mean a place that repairs boats such as the one I...

Thanks Wayne for your advice about the paint, and everyone for all your help. I think i will hold off on the paint for now and fix up the important things first. Plus I suppose it could help with drying out the boat faster...

Thank you for your advice everyone.
In regards to what Nightsailor said, I have already installed one 6" port on the deck, I wish I had read this post earlier since I would have known that I have a "rare" blue deck boat...
Hi everyone, I would just like to ask if it's possible to patch the bottom of my boat without using gelcoat. and just doing a straight fiberglass patch, I'm not concerned about it looking crazy nice since it will be at the very bottom of the vessel. Or is gelcoat really a must?
Also, what is...
Being new to sailing and boating in general, this includes any small crafts of any sort, I purchased a sunfish for $100CD to get a taste for things. Now here come the repairs.
So I went ahead and purchased 2 6" inspection ports to install along with some 3M Marine Adhesive/caulk. Now to wait...
As mentioned in my other posts, I purchased a sunfish not too long ago for $100CD with the trailer, so now I am going to start bringing it back to life. I have no experienced with boats, sailing or anything of this sort. But wanted to start sailing on a budget, so I purchased this boat. Any...
Thank you everyone for the advice, but unfortunately I don't have access to a jigsaw..and..also I'm very afraid of messing up the hole, that's why the hole saw posibility came to mind.
Would a hole saw really tear of up fiberglass? or would it be a straight cut like Andy suggested?
can anyone...
Hi everyone, I have a few questions, i posted a message (http://www.sunfishforum.com/showthread.php?t=28959) not too long ago in regards to a SF I picked up.
I'm sure more questions will follow but for now, I am wondering if I can use a 4" hole saw to make the inspection ports? will it damage...
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a sunfish boat with the serial number: 60859, I have no clue what year it was made in.. or anything else about the boat. The reason I bought it is because it's my first boat ever, and.. also the fact that it came with everything including the trailer for $100...
Hi, I am am just wondering what part of the boat the image on page 6 is from. I am curious to know since I just picked up my first boat, and it happens to be sunfish, but I don't recognize the part of the boat on page 6.
Thank you very much.
