The typical solution is to get the entire old one out and replace it with this or something similar, which is what comes on new Sunfish Ronstan Hull Drain plug
I wish I could tell you how to remove the old one - maybe people pry them out?
Older Sunfish tend to be heavier, and putting a layer of fiberglass, fairing compound and paint on it is going to make it much heavier and it won’t be a cheap proposition.
Be sure to leave the connecting bolt loose or you won’t be able to swivel the extension 360 degrees with that rope on there. Swiveling 360 is occasionally helpful while sailing.
Laser Performance first agreed to provide new boats and sails for the Worlds in Ecuador, then cancelled at the last minute. So when the class got a replacement event scheduled, I dont think they were very predisposed to promote LP’s business. And the racers prefer North Sails, which LP doesn’t...

I haven’t looked at the scores as closely as you. However, I am happy there was a second throw out as JP had a breakdown that was certainly beyond his control in the first race. It would’ve been unfortunate had he had to use a single throw out on that and have to live with the 23rd. Further...
Details on the entrants, sailing instructions, eventually the results, etc are here. 52nd ISCA World Championship on Yacht Scoring - A complete web based regatta administration and yacht scoring program
About half the boats are the charters and the rest are “bring your own.” Everyone has to...
I’d take it off the tote dolly. A lot of snow on the boat would end up putting a lot of weight on the spot where the boat rests on the dolly. Can you prop it up on its side against a building?
